Traffic measurement for bicycle measurements
Measurement values from traffic measurements for bicycles and mopeds
Bicycle flows in Malmö
The purpose of this traffic volume compilation is to report current moped and
bicycle traffic volumes in Malmö. At the same time, changes should be easily
readable since data on traffic volumes is available from 1994 onwards.
It is important to keep in mind that there are factors that can affect the
measurement results when studying traffic data, especially when only one day
is counted (e.g. road works, major reconstruction, weather).
There is only one data point from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Traffic
flows from 2021 have also been shown to be affected by the pandemic.
The report is an excerpt compiled from the Property and Street Office's traffic database in which measured traffic volumes have been continuously stored each year.

² Traffic counts are carried out during autumn and spring, on a Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday between 06-09 and 15-18. The number of mopeds, scooters
and bicycles is counted in both directions. Using a coefficient system, the
values are converted to Weekday Traffic , which means that the values
contain a certain uncertainty.
